Yemeni frankincense has long been treasured as a precious aromatic resin along the ancient Silk Road. These resin pieces are mostly short column-shaped or naturally irregular chunks, with a consistent size and a fine gray-white powdery coating on the surface.

The texture is firm, smooth, and never rough. When gently heated, the resin softens without becoming overly sticky. Fresh pieces often show a translucent light yellow-brown tone, with clear natural resin lines visible inside. As the resin ages, the color gradually deepens into a warm brown shade, developing a softer, aged glow and a richer collector's character.

Aroma Notes:

This premium Yemeni frankincense opens with a honeyed sweetness, develops into a rich resin heart, and finishes with a warm sandalwood-like base.

At first, the aroma feels like sweet acacia honey, touched with a gentle hint of cardamom spice that keeps the sweetness balanced. As it warms, a smooth and full-bodied resin note slowly unfolds, giving the scent a deep, aged richness.

The finish is dry, calm, and woody, with a sandalwood-like depth. The entire aroma is sweet but not heavy, rich but never muddy, with no sharp or harsh note. After heating, a soft caramel-honey finish lingers beautifully in the room.

Compared with Somali frankincense, which is often brighter and more lively, Yemeni frankincense feels deeper, warmer, and more grounded. It also works beautifully as a blending base, helping soften strong woody notes, add depth to floral aromas, and give handmade incense a more memorable character.

How to Use:

● Incense Heating: Enjoy slowly over charcoal or with indirect heat. When using an electric incense burner, start at a steady 200°C / 392°F to release the full aroma, then gradually lower the temperature as the fragrance develops.
● Incense Blending: Freeze the resin before grinding, then blend it with agarwood, sandalwood, or other natural incense materials to create incense powder, incense sticks, or incense coils.
● Extraction: Suitable for steam distillation to extract essential oil, or for use in aromatherapy and handmade fragrance products.
